Electrical and Computer Engineering

Job Market for ECE Program

A salary survey from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) states that graduates with engineering degrees are amongst the highest paid of all new college graduates.

NACE ranks Computer Engineers as the highest paid new college graduates with an annual salary of $70,400.

Electrical Engineers are also in the top ten, with an annual salary of $62,300. This is the first time that the NACE has broken engineering up into different categories. Engineering fields dominate the top ten career options with six different fields making the list.

There is both a domestic and international shortage of qualified graduates with expertise in communications and information technology, and that shortage is expected to continue into the future. There is also demand in other areas, such as the electric power industry with its increasing emphasis on alternative methods for power generation and emerging areas such as biomedicine and micro-electro-mechanical systems will also contribute to the overall demand for qualified graduates in ECE in the near future.
